As many CLC World members will know, Club La Costa was found guilty of illegally selling timeshare as an investment, a clear violation of UK and European law. In 2021, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) in the UK upheld several complaints, a decision that was subsequently confirmed by the UK's High Court in 2023.

Thousands of Club La Costa Fractional Points Members were misled and falsely informed that they were investing in 'bricks and mortar' and a percentage of a property that would be resold to generate a profit and provide them with a lump sum return.
