We are receiving continuous reports from past and present timeshare owners that have been cold-called by a sham outfit called European Debt Recovery. This desperate scam is trying to scare consumers into believing they have outstanding maintenance fees that debt collectors will enforce unless they arrange a meeting with a 'legal expert' and pay them a fee.
This most recent and blatant timeshare fraud is extortion, which shows the lengths criminals are prepared to go to. Yet again, this recent attempt at defrauding timeshare owners leads back to Tenerife, the hot spot for timeshare exit and claims fraud.
We can guarantee that this is a scam. However, if you do have genuine concerns about outstanding maintenance fees, give us a call. Based on the information we have been receiving, the vast majority of consumers that have been contacted, cancelled their timeshares many years ago, and have nothing to worry about.
If you are a victim and have already paid money into this new scam, it's important to act quickly. Contact your Bank immediately, and advise them that you have been caught in a scam, and they should be able to recover your money.
If however, your bank hasn't been any help, get in touch. Our advice and guidance is free of charge.
