Hands up, who knows what they really own at Seasons? Or do you OWN anything? Most people who contact us believe they own fractional ownership, as this is what it says on the trustee certificate. Your disclosure documentation says your keys membership is an "Alternative to Fractional Ownership." So what is it you actually purchased, and what are the ramifications?
According to Seasons, the principle is simple!: "26 like minded people share the purchase of the freehold to a property. Each property will be held in trust, and only 26 ownership certificates can be issued per property." Sounds simple, doesn't it ?! When dealing with the most dishonest industry on the planet, nothing is ever as it seems and is as clear as a foggy day on Dartmoor!

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it is a Co-Ownership Plan!
Yes, you guessed it, you own a timeshare! A 'right of occupancy' timeshare with the same legal framework as any other timeshare ownership. And if you upgraded to exit your previous Season's timeshare, it is precisely the same as what you had before! Listerine is another prime example of selling the same product but marketing it differently. It was initially marketed as a surgical antiseptic in the 19th century. Later, it was sold as a floor cleaner and a treatment for gonorrhoea before finally being rebranded as a mouthwash in the 1920s—without changing its formula!
The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (the CPRs) prohibit traders from making 'misleading actions' and 'misleading omissions' that cause or are likely to cause the average consumer to take a 'transactional decision' that they would not have taken otherwise.
How could the 'average Seasons timeshare consumer' have made an informed 'transactional decision' based on information that was misleading, omitted, and unintelligible? They couldn't, and how could they have been expected to when the information in the paperwork provided wasn't true?

As you are probably aware, Seasons Holidays is currently running a desperate marketing campaign that seeks to cover up the failings of the Keys membership by trying to bully people into signing up for new lodges and 49-night packages. If you are fed up with the way in which you have been treated by Seasons Holidays, have lost trust, and don't believe a word that comes out of their salespeople's mouths, we can help. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and hold unique and crucial evidence that will be decisive in winning your claim. If you wish to cancel your Seasons timeshare contract or make a claim, get in touch.
