Free Exit
Some Timeshare companies will allow you to give back your Timeshare free of charge without the payment of an Exit fee. However, some Timeshare companies will make you sign a disclaimer that prevents you from making a No Upfront Fee Claim.
If you are unsure if you qualify for compensation, then get in touch. If you do not qualify for a claim, then giving the timeshare back to the resort would be your best option.

Your Timeshare company may offer you a 'buy out fee'. This fee
will be an amount of money that you will have to pay them to end your Timeshare contract. This fee can often be an excessive amount of money. You may also have to waive your rights to a claim.

RDO Exit Policy
There are very few Timeshare companies that are still members of the Resort Development Organisation. A statement by the RDO, on the 29th of April 2014 says that:
All RDO members were required to have some form of an Exit programme'. The examples given are;
1. Directing owners to a short-term / Exit product which gives members the option to leave without penalty.
2. Taking the weeks back subject to certain conditions.

Our Research
The first option would involve spending more money on another Timeshare product. Our research suggests that some RDO members allow their members to exit their timeshare contract at 75 years old; illness preventing you from travelling or Bankruptcy.
These changes to the RDO Exit policy resulted from an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority in July 2014.
The RDO represents the interests of timeshare resorts and is funded by them. As such, the RDO will always support the best interests of their members.
