We receive over four hundred calls every month from timeshare owners looking for clarification and honest advice. This advice often centres around information provided to them by sales and marketing companies that are looking for payment of upfront fees for their services.
We could fill an encyclopedia with the incorrect information, lies and stories that timeshare owners are told by companies looking to make a quick buck at the expense of the consumer.
Fortunately, due to the hard work of our team, many potential victims are saved. However, some are not so lucky and not only lose even more money but miss out on what could be a simple and inexpensive exit and claim option.
If you are a UK resident and own a Spanish timeshare, you do not need to use a Spanish Lawyer to get you out of your timeshare.
This tactic is used by numerous companies and organisations to elicit the payment of extortionate upfront fees. Spain has no jurisdiction over the UK and even less so since Brexit.
Getting out of your timeshare contract is often inexpensive and sometimes free. Likewise, making a timeshare claim is also very straightforward and doesn't require the payment of any upfront fees.

The main targets of timeshare claims fraud are Club La Costa members. This well publicised fraud involves members being convinced over long-winded Zoom calls that they only have 'one month' left to submit their claim and requires up to £20,000 to be paid in upfront fees for Spanish legal services.
The Truth
If you purchased a Fractional membership with Club La Costa and took out finance with Barclays Partner Finance, Shawbrook Bank or Hitachi Personal Finance (Novuna) and either still have the finance or paid it off within the last six years, you are entitled to a free exit and no upfront fee claim.

Be aware that if you deal with unregulated companies, you will often receive the wrong advice. The advice given to you is provided by salespeople looking to earn a commission, much the same as when you first bought your timeshare.
We deal with hundreds of victims every month who have been told that they qualify for claims when they don't, and others who have been asked for upfront legal fees and had their claims submitted in the wrong country!
Prevention is better than cure
The common denominator with all scam companies is that although the story will always be different, paying an upfront fee will always be the same!
