When looking for the best and safest way to exit your timeshare, it is crucial to be aware of the potential pitfalls that could result in you losing money. This Timeshare Exit Guide will show you how to spot the scams and ensure you can safely exit your timeshare.
In the first seven months of 2023, we have helped hundreds of timeshare owners avoid timeshare exit and claim scams and recovered thousands of pounds for victims.
Let's start with how to avoid the potential pitfalls that will result in you losing money.
Scare Tactics
Criminal gangs are cold-calling past and present timeshare owners, telling them that bailiffs will be sent to their homes unless they pay thousands of pounds to settle historic maintenance bills. This tactic is, unfortunately, proving very effective, as many of their victims are elderly and vulnerable.
The modus operandi of the criminals is to scare victims into believing that their timeshare wasn't legally cancelled and that they have up to ten years of outstanding fees that, unless settled, will result in legal action against themselves and their families.
The cold call typically begins with the threat of a European Court Order being taken out against them for outstanding fees, then leads to victims being asked to pay thousands of pounds to settle their bills.
This is one of the worst cases of fraud and bribery that we have seen in recent times. Criminal gangs in Mainland Spain and Tenerife are becoming increasingly desperate and continuously seeking out ways to defraud timeshare owners in the UK.
We can absolutely guarantee that this is a scam and advise anyone affected to contact us immediately.

Recovery Room Fraud
All of the victims we help have one thing in common, they have all been subjected to a Zoom Call, which resembled a timeshare presentation. Many have also become victims of recovery room fraud, losing money to multiple companies that knew of the previous scam and persuading victims that they could recover their money and help them resolve their timeshare problems.
The fact of the matter is that it is the same criminal organisation behind all the scams, opening up and closing down companies and calling back the people they have already scammed under a different name.
Many of the victims we have helped have lost tens of thousands of pounds and, in actual fact, didn't need to pay anyone anything to exit their timeshare contracts.
Don't rely on the fact that paying by credit card will give you 100% protection against potential fraud. Prior to victims speaking with us, many of our clients had their claim rejected by the bank due to the creditor-debtor-link being broken. It is important to remember that section 75 isn't an automatic right of recourse and will not guarantee a refund of your money.
Cold Callers and Upfront Fees
Anyone that has cold-called you regarding your timeshare has illegally obtained your data on the black market. Timeshare data is regularly bought and sold on the dark web and by criminal groups in Tenerife, Mainland Spain and the UK.
Cold callers only have one objective: to convince you that you need to pay them an upfront fee. The story may be different, but the outcome will be the same. You will lose your money.
Never pay upfront fees for timeshare exit or timeshare claims; it's not worth the risk.
